Centralia, Wash. — The Port of Centralia announced that it has completed a much-anticipated sale to WinCo foods for a new store at Centralia Station. WinCo will anchor the mixed-use development that will include grocery and other retail opportunities for Centralia residents and I-5 travelers.

Port of Centralia President Kyle Markstrom stated, “The Port would like to thank WinCo for the investment in our community. Not only will Centralians be able to shop at one of the Northwest Premier grocers, there will be over 100 new family wage job opportunities as well. Many people know WinCo’s excellent reputation for providing value to consumers, it was their stellar reputation as an employer that made this such an attractive client for the Port.”

Port of Centralia Executive Director Kyle Heaton stated, “We appreciate all of the hard work that WinCo and Powell Development have put into this project to see it through to fruition. We also appreciate the patience of our constituents while infrastructure design and construction that led to WinCo’s site selection took place. The Port would also like to thank Senator John Braun who’s leadership and support were critical to this project’s success.”

Look for additional announcements on construction timelines and store opening from WinCo in the near future.

Founded in 1986, the Port of Centralia operates two industrial parks and one planned mixed-use development that provide over 2,100 jobs to the local community. The Port’s over 30 tenants include Sierra Pacific Industries, Walmart, UNFI and Dick’s Brewing Company.
