PORT OF CENTRALIA RECEIVES CLEAN AUDIT
CENTRALIA, Wash. — The Port of Centralia achieved a clean audit report from the Washington State Auditor demonstrating its compliance with state laws and high financial standards for the years 2017-2019.
The State Auditor examined the Port’s financial practices, internal controls, compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act, financial condition and compliance with contracts and agreements. The State Auditor found that the Port’s internal controls were adequate to safeguard public assets and the Port complied with state laws and regulations and its own policies and procedures.
Port of Centralia Commission President Julie Shaffley stated “We appreciate the efforts of the State Auditor’s Office to conduct this thorough review. It is gratifying for our constituents to know that the Port of Centralia is not only in excellent condition financially, but there has also been full compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act. These outcomes do not happen without the hard work and diligence of staff and in particular our Director of Finance and Administration Amy Graber.”
